Latest housing figures disappointing for Enfield

The latest housing figures for England published yesterday show that:

  • Enfield did not meet housing targets (again)
  • Housing stock in Enfield has only increased by 1.4% since 2016
  • Enfield is the 2nd worst performing Outer London Borough in terms of increases to housing stock

Figures also show that a high proportion of the new homes built in Enfield since 2017 (13.3%) have been conversions i.e. larger homes cut up into flats. This reduces the number of family homes in the borough, despite the desperate need for family housing.
